Kinetics of Smelting Chromia–Bearing Vanadiferous Titanomagnetite Ore via High–Temperature CO2–Containing Gas Injection

Through thermodynamic smelting experiments, nonisothermal and isothermal kinetics the effects of CO2–containing gas injection on chromia–bearing vanadiferous titanomagnetite ore were investigated. The experiments at 900 °C, 1000 1100 1200 1300 CO2 concentration 0, 10 vol.%, 20 30 vol.% studied. samples after analyzed through calculations characterized by XRD, XRF, XPS, SEM. results show that significantly improves softening–melting–dripping behavior during process. As injected increased from 0 to range softening temperature [T40–T4] decreased 109 °C 97 droplet [Td–Ts] rapidly 196 162 °C. Moreover, when was minimum apparent activation energy reached 75.58 kJ·mol−1. Combining lowest permeability index fastest reduction rate, optimal in fuel considered be vol.%. parameters fitted according 1 − (1 α)1/3 t (CG3 model), 121.93 kJ·mol−1 (less than 150 kJ·mol−1), which means restrictive step polymetallic reaction is mainly determined diffusion. Finally, characterizations helps titanium stabilize a higher valence state, conducive improve high–temperature characteristics titanium–containing slag.
